Lodoss no Senki

Synopsis
*Record of Lodoss War* is the tale of six heroes pulled together by fate to protect their bloodied homeland on the Island of Lodoss. While this land has always been ravaged by war and chaos, a new evil has presented itself. And this evil if far more sinister than any that have come before it... It's up to this unlikely band to pool their talents and come out on top or Lodoss may be lost forever...

The story is loosely based on an American RPG entitled "Sword World" which became very popular in Japan. It was first made into three manga and then finally adapted for the screen in 13 OAV's in 1991.
