It's made up of three(count them 3) diffrent series.
Dragon Ball-That would be the old school type-ish stuff like when they all first meet
Dragon Ball Z-Yeaaah the main chunk of the line of series. Made up of the battles with Freezer-Cell-Buu-etcetc(add the outside movies too)
Dragon ball GT-Oooh ending section. Starts with Goku(young due to the fact he was wished to be young again.X.x) Pan(Goku's grand child AKA Gohan and Videls Child.XD) and Trunks going off to find the dragonballs on diffren't planets.XD Fighting and all are in this as well.
