Chobits

Synopsis
Chobits, yet another CLAMP series, ran in Young Magazine weekly. Hideki, a young poor cram school student living in the future, wants a persocon (a computer usually shaped like a sexy girl) more than anything. Coming home from work one day, he happens to find what he fears is a dead person in the trash wrapped in rags-no, wait, it's a persocon! Hideki can't believe his luck. Once he gets home and figures out how to turn the persocon on, he is suprised when all the persocon is able to say is "Chi." Chii (as the persocon gets named) and her mysterous origins are explored as the series progresses.

There is a Chobits anime out in Japan and TokyoPop has recently started putting the manga out in English as well.
